Method 1: HTTP Redirect

Simply redirect your user to:

https://downtimepage.com/?domain=[yourdomainname]&email=[youremail]

Email is optional. When present it will be show so that visitors can reach your out with questions. Keep in mind that if your server also hosts mail, it would be good idea to use spare email address here.

Nginx Example:

        server {
            server_name   ~^(?<domain>.+)$;

            location / {
                proxy_pass http://lamp;
                error_page 502 = http://downtimepage.com/?domain=$domain;
            }
        }

Method 2: CNAME your domain to in.downtimepage.com

CNAME stands for Canonical Name. CNAME records can be used to alias one name to another.

Not all registrars/DNS providers allow to configure root domain CNAME record. If this is not an option, use method below using A-record.

Method 3: Configure A-record to point to Downtime Page

Simply point A record of the domain to 5.9.68.62
